Books2All is, of course, only one of many book charities aiming to improve access to quality reading experiences for children and adults in the UK.
We don’t regard this as a competitive space. If our books-to-school matching service isn’t what you need right now, look at what these fantastic charities do, as outlined below.
Favourite book charities choice 1: Give A book
Give A Book promote books and the pleasure of reading in the hardest-to-reach places. It works in prisons, schools and with disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK. The charity was set up in 2011 in memory of writer and playwright Simon Gray. In September 2017, Prison Reading Groups (PRG) became part of Give a Book to supply books for reading groups and family days in over 60 UK prisons.

Favourite book charities choice 2: Coram Beanstalk
Susan Belgrave founded Coram Beanstalk in 1973. The charity provides a network of trained reading helpers to support approximately 10,000 children across England. Since its foundation, Coram Beanstalk has helped over 200,000 children learn to read. Through its one-to-one reading support, it touches the lives of children who would otherwise be excluded from the benefits and pleasure that reading can bring.

Favourite book charities choice 3: Better World Books
Better World Books is a socially responsible bookselling platform that donates a book to someone in need every time someone buys a book from its store. It grants funds to literacy and educational nonprofits and libraries for projects aiming to reduce global poverty through education.

Favourite book charities choice 4: Children’s Book Project
The Children’s Book Project redistributes thousands of new and gently used books to children and their families. The charity works closely with women’s groups, children’s centres and schools to gift books to children across the UK, forging links with communities that will benefit most from access to free books.

Favourite book charities choice 5: Book-Cycle
Book-Cycle is a UK based volunteer run charity seeking to empower children worldwide through the provision of free books and educational resources. Book donations are received at its book shops and shelves in community spaces. These donations fund environmental initiatives in England and community libraries in Ghana.
