Since our app went live on 2 May, Books2All has been busy organising our first book donations with London schools registered to use our service.

We are delighted to tell you that the first two schools to receive book donations through the Books2All app are Liberty Primary School in Mitcham and King Solomon Academy in Westminster.

Further book deliveries are underway. Currently, we have 53 accounts on the app: 37 book donors and 16 registered schools. So far, we are matching a book to a school every two days, which is a good start. We now need YOU, our readers, to help keep this momentum going by letting everyone you know in London about the app and uploading as many books as possible!

Kay Corden, Assistant Head and EYFS & KS1 Phase Leader at Liberty Primary School, is delighted to be one of the first recipients of books donations through Books2All:

“I heard about Books2All through English Hubs; it was mentioned on their website. I registered because we wanted to invest in books for our KS2 library. We received three Horrible Histories and Horrible Science books and three Animal Ark books. Our KS2 children will enjoy reading these.

“The app is great and very easy to use. Once more books are uploaded, I can see the app being a great success.”

Books available for download from the Books2All app

The book selection on the Books2All app is already pretty exciting. At the time of writing, among other available titles, we have: a complete Princess Diaries series; a Pure Dead trilogy; some Horrible Histories and similar.

If you a registered school in the London area, please log in and have a look or download the app and join us! And please remember that we intend to go nationwide as soon as we can.

Books2All is planning a national book donations campaign!

Meanwhile, we are sending out our latest news to the media as we also need their help with a national campaign to encourage donors to sign up. And this is the important message that I will be sharing with them:

“Books2All aims to provide resources to children who do not have them and improve educational performance and literacy rates nationwide. But we can only do so if people are willing to donate good quality children’s books (including textbooks) that their household no longer needs and encourage their extended family and friends to do the same.”

Thank you for visiting our blog. Our vision here at Books2All is a world where every child finds the books that help them reach their true potential. If you have spare books in good condition at home that you think might be appropriate for school children or represent a school and would like to register to receive donated books, please download the Books2All app from the App Store or Google Play
